The 137th British Open Golf Championship
Royal Birkdale - Thursday 17th July to Sunday 20th July 2008
In 2008 the Open Championship returns to Royal Birkdale for the ninth time. Founded in 1889 this challenging course has been voted no.1 in Britain. Last held in 1998 and won by Mark O’Meara, previous Birkdale winners include Lee Travino, Jonny Miller, Tom Watson, and Ian Baker Finch.
With around 200,000 fans attending the Open each year, plus an absence of nine years. Birkdale will easily be the hot ticket of 2008.
